Panel Description The Panel is instigated to provide built structures with a lightweight modular, highly thermally insulated, ecologically friendly metal, plastic or composite material cladding panel. The cladding panel comprises of two or more metal, composite material or plastic skins between a vacuum. The metal or composite skins are framed out between the vacuum with a perforated-thermally broken EPDM rubber spacer element. The edges of the modular panels are thermally broken and connected to either a standard construction curtain wall system or other panels to provide a very highly insulated envelope skin to a built structure. The unit can be coloured as appropriate to a B.S. or RAL colour. The vacuum panel, per se, allows structural frames of built structures, including vehicles, to be reduced in their structural design capacity. This is due to the structural bearing capacity of the said frame being reduced by the lightweight aspect of the insulating vacuum panel. This aspect allows savings on structural frame design, foundation design and thermal heating and cooling enabling very highly insulated, lightweight, long lifespan structures to be developed quickly and economically. The vacuum panel also saves on the production and manufacture of polluting insulating materials which usually insulate built structures. The saving in structural design capacity also reduces transportation resources - therefore less energy is required to transport a lightweight product. |
